MD – Doctor of Medicine
MD program curriculum is designed to be in align with Mission and Vision of CUCOM.
The MD program consists of 2 phases: Basic Science and Clinical Science over 4.5 years.
Basic Science of the MD program consists of 6 semesters.
It lays the schema for students assimilate and accommodate knowledge, skills and attitudes into clinical and as physicians.
Clinical Science is about 6 semesters.
Clinical students will learn under close supervision of clinical faculty as a team in inpatient and outpatient setting of affiliated hospitals in United States. Students will experience a physician’s typical day, take history, do physical examination, discuss differential diagnose, analyze investigations, perform limited procedures and take part in clinical research.
The Basic Science portion of the MD program is completed in St. Lucia.
After successful completion of the Basic Science phase, students move on to the Clinical Rotations phase. This last 2 years of the program can be performed in US affiliated clinical sites.
Our students and graduates are eligible to apply to ECFMG for ECFMG Certification and USMLE® as a step towards ECFMG Certification.
